CollabOps

co doctor — environment check

Check git, SSH and login, and install git

co doctor checks that this computer is ready to work with CollabOps repositories. When git is missing, it shows the install command for your OS and runs it once you agree.

Basic usage

co doctor

Example output:

✔ git git version 2.39.5
✔ ssh installed
! git-lfs not installed — needed only for repositories that use Git LFS
✔ login alice @ https://collabops.ai
! git setup SSH key, signing or HTTPS helper not set up for https://collabops.ai
  → co auth login

What it checks

ItemWhat is checkedWhen something is wrong
gitInstalled, and version 2.36 or laterOffers the install command · asks to upgrade below 2.36
sshssh is installed — needed to clone and push over SSHWarning only
git-lfsgit-lfs is installed — needed only for repositories that use LFSWarning only
loginYour co session is validPoints to co auth login
git setupSSH key registration · commit signing · HTTPS credential helperOpens the same setup screen as co auth login (y/N)

Installing git

When git is missing, co shows the command that fits this computer.

OSCommand
macOSbrew install git (when Homebrew is installed) · otherwise xcode-select --install
Windowswinget install --id Git.Git -e --source winget
LinuxWhichever of apt-get · dnf · yum · zypper · pacman · apk is installed (prefixed with sudo when not root)

co always asks y/N before running anything (default N). Outside a terminal (CI, scripts) it only prints the commands. When no install method fits, it points to https://git-scm.com/downloads.

On macOS, xcode-select --install opens an installer window and returns right away. Finish the install there, then run co doctor again.

Exit code

co doctor exits non-zero while git is missing or you are not logged in, so scripts and onboarding guides can use it as a pre-check. co repo clone also stops before contacting the server when git is missing, and points to co doctor.
